MISC:Kenya has a unique physiography that supports an abundant and
varied wildlife of immense scientific and economic value. Its name
comes from Mt. Kenya and means "Mountain of Whiteness". The climate
varies from tropical along the coast to arid in the interior. 3% of the
land is arable. Kenya became independent on 12 December, 1963. Member
of UN since 1963. Member of Commonwealth of Nations.
